You know something major has shifted when sneakers dominate the men’s shoe department at Neiman Marcus.

Clearly, track shoes are one of the biggest style statements a man can make. And, thanks to trendsetters like Pharrell Williams, sneakers are having a moment with suits as well as street wear.

Snappy new sneakers blaze with color, print and detail, including embroidery, quilting, paint splatter and oversize logos. Artful destruction, ombre shading and metallics are also fresh. What remains consistent are the silhouettes — high tops, low tops and slip ons plus a few boat shoes.

High fashion styles can’t help but inject verve into any summer wardrobe.

They’re not necessarily the best, however, if you want to rock the sneaker and suit look.

Salvatore Ferragamo

A solid colored low top is the easiest to pull it off, such as Salvatore Ferragamo’s burnished walnut calfskin lace up sneaker. Bright white, soft beige or cognac leather also look smart. The trick is to keep the pants hem just above the tongue of the sneaker, the better to show off the shoe, and stick to slim-cut suits and pants.

Prada

A number of brands have created polished leather sneaks in warm chocolate and cognac hues that give a hint of dress shoes. A genius edition is Prada’s wing-tip sneaker at Neiman’s.

Accessibly priced versions also abound. Dillard’s, for instance, carries stylish brown leather trainers under $200 from a variety of brands, including Polo Ralph Lauren, Joseph Seibel, Frye and more.

Saint Laurent

You can’t go wrong with white leather lace-ups. Visit Neiman’s to check out crisp looks from TOD'S, Adidas, Saint Laurent, Puma, Frye, Versace and Giuseppe Zanotti. Naturally, Nordstrom also has a wide assortment, including Ecco, Magnanni, J&M and Lacoste.

Basic black leather tennies, usually with a white sole, are another go to. Nordstrom has got some great styles by Vince and Gucci, and Neiman’s stocks posh black sneakers by Buscemi, Burberry, Prada and Lanvin.

Go on. Treat your feet to new sneaks.
