As ancient symbols of love and commitment, chains and interlocking loops in precious metals make ideal holiday gifts – especially when there are so many fresh new options.

Many designers offer pieces in silver as well as gold, providing chic options starting at a couple hundred dollars and ranging up to tens of thousands.

Ippolita at Neiman Marcus

Ippolita, one of the most popular designers at Neiman Marcus, offers a loopy collection called Cherish. Her $2,295 Cherish Bond interlocking loop pendant necklace in 18-karat gold with diamonds is both beautiful and meaningful. Neiman’s also stocks it in solid gold for $1,495 and sterling silver at $245.

Tiffany & Co.

The $12,000 piece features a pavé diamond center link and horseshoe links with glistening globe accents, while the same silhouette in solid sterling is $1,100. Matching earrings are $4,000 in gold and $800 in sterling.

David Yurman
